Graduation May 2019 was an exciting day for F.I.R.S.T. Institute. We took to the carpet to interview some of our graduates. They shared their future plans within the industry and what they’ll miss most about the Orlando technical school.
F.I.R.S.T. Institute Graduates Speak May 2019
Each one of our students has a dream and passion for creating art. Our job is to give them the knowledge, skills and experience they need to help fulfill those dreams and turn those passions into careers.
From the instructors to the hands-on learning to the small class sizes, we try our best to get it right. Check out what some of our alumnihad to say about their experiences at our technical school:
George Rodriguez
George Rodriguez is a Recording Arts & Show Production graduate. His favorite part about F.I.R.S.T. Institute was the instructors. He smiles as he tells the camera they are really friendly and knowledgeable.
According to George, the school’s teaching method gives students hands-on experience. The instructors were just amazing. They shared their background experiences with the students and helped them understand a lot more about the industry.
Michael Zazzaro
Michael Zazzaro graduated from the Digital Filmmaking and Video Production program. He credits the hands-on learning as his favorite part of attending F.I.R.S.T. Students learn using actual equipment, as opposed to “book learning.”
That’s what he enjoyed most.
Now that he’s graduated, Michael will probably move to Texas because there’s a big film industry there. He plans to do some hands-on work in the video production and film studio arenas.
Daniel Zeledon
Daniel Zeledon is a Recording Arts & Show Production graduate. As a student, his favorite part was the small class sizes. He really appreciated the intimacy this provides the students.
According to Daniel, every single one of the teachers really wants you to succeed. So, you get personal mentorship at F.I.R.S.T. And because you have small classes, the students are really close as well.
He says he loved the whole program in itself.
Jesus Burgos
Jesus Burgos graduated from the Digital Filmmaking and Video Production program. His favorite part was the passion everybody had at the Orlando school. The instructors were really helpful. And they’re always there for the students.
“It was an incredible experience,” says Jesus. He told us he’ll never forget it, noting, “I’m gonna miss this school.”
Stael Castro
Stael Castro is a Recording Arts & Show Production graduate. His favorite part was the mastering course. That was pretty much the reason he registered as a student in the first place.
The alumnus says the mastering class taught him a lot. Stael already knew how to mix and things of that nature. But he had no skills or knowledge about mastering.
Castro says the instructors taught him a lot of advanced mixing techniques, too!
Aneka Carr
Aneka Carr graduated from the Recording Arts & Show Production program. Her favorite part, surprisingly, was doing sound design for movies and TV. Her class even produced a little video clip to show at the graduation.
“I had so much fun,” Aneka says. She didn’t think she would because it was so challenging. “But once you get it,” she tells us, “it’s so exciting.” To her, the whole program was awesome.
Carr enjoyed her time as a F.I.R.S.T. student. She reiterates, “It was fun.”
Duane Miller
Duane Miller is a Digital Filmmaking and Video Production graduate. What he liked most about F.I.R.S.T. Institute was the openness of the program. He loves how accessible it is and how easily students can check out technical gear.
Miller says he was given the freedom to do some of his own things. Plus, he had access to a bunch of teachers that are active within the industry. The instructors were open to help him through the various problems he had.
Now that he’s graduated, Duane wants to be a YouTuber and create his own content. The alumnus tells us he wants to create his own universe. You see all these different people who do exactly that without education. And they become very successful.
Well, according to Duane, he does have an education. He knows the things that others fall short on producing YouTube videos. So, he wants to do what they do and improve on it. His goal is to raise the bar while making good content.
